I think I could like the M85 hornet. Would rather have a flush magazine though. Yep, that mag would be a non-starter for me too. Sure ruins the lines of a decent looking rifle. Geno

Looks like only the hornet gets the strange magazine.

Your second pic also has a different stock outline? And a sorta funky pistol grip cap too. Is that one a .223?

yes. Hard to say which gun looks more goofy. the flare on the second one looks a bit out of place. At least it's not as bad as this one:

Their website is pretty confusing... looks to me as though the 9.3x62 is only available in LH? Anyway, I could see trying out a Mini in .22 Hornet, or the regular ones 6.5x55, 6.5x57, or the 9.3x62 if available in RH. Sure wish you could get a .222 or 7x64.
This is a shooting forum, there is no place here for logic.

That is certainly an odd looking duck! All it needs is a few upholstery tacks in strategic locations for that "personalized" look!
Well, as others on this thread have mentioned, it'd probably be a good start for a project gun.
Have a nice evening, I'm off for some shuteye. Geno

I have the M70 in synthetic, and for the money it's a very good rifle. Mine will put some loads into half moa 3 shot groups, and even a poor combo generally gives me 5 shot 1.5 moa groups. Mine is a 270 Win and I would buy another. I am waiting to see what the stainless steel version looks like when it comes here via Beretta Australia next year. A photo.

Kodiak, where on the site did you find the mannlichers? Could you post a link? Their website seems less than navigable for me.

Thanks for all the responses. Next ?? Are these K -var Zastava's coming long about like the CZ curve was in curb appeal to the American market?
Sure wish I had gotten on the CZ bandwagon early on, 'cause IMO they are overpriced these days, and non responsive to the niche market I'm drifting into of classic euro styling. I am looking for an alternative for a less expensive Steyr or a '50's Husqvarna post war rifle but with more 6.5, 7x57, 9.3 offerings as well as unique calibers like the afore mentioned 264WMg that jumped off the page at me. Could anybody show a picture of how the bolt head looks on the mini-mausers?
Im guessing its not a CRF design?

Do a search on Google images and you'll get a few hits. Otherwise have a look at a Sako L461, and you're right it's not CRF.

So they're on Zastava's site. Hopefully K-var will be importing some of those. A right handed 9.3x62 would be nice too.

Almost bought the double set trigger model in 264 win mag today. Then I was informed the barrel was 23.6" (600 mm) long

The barrel could be shortened 0.6" and be at that magical 23" length.

I believe they make something called an LK808 or similar with the 26 inch barrel. Smart looking. They imported them here for a short while but I missed out.
Nice wood in them too.
