Bye, Bye, Miss American Pie. November 6, 2012 will go down in history as the day individual freedom
and the American experiment died. We were warned by Jefferson and Franklin that this day would come,
when the electorate opted to vote themselves largess from the public coffers. We are now socialists.
It was one thing to vote for a cryptic message of hope and change from an unvetted pied piper of empty
promises. It's quite another for the open hands to re-elect the emperor after he has been stripped of his new
clothes and exposed as a false prophet.
The majority of the people have deserted our country and made our founding principles a footnote in our
epitaph. Who could have imagined fifty years ago that we would live to see the demise of the beacon of freedom
in this world? How far and how fast we have fallen; we have done to ourselves what no outside enemy could
accomplish. We will not survive another four years of Barack Obama. The United States of Idiocracy cannot
endure.
It's a sad statement that they who most value and cherish this once great country are now too old to fight for
it, and the young are too lazy and complacent to care about anything other than themselves.
Savor what little liberty you have left for however long you have it, and remember the country that was admired,
respected, and feared, until we threw it all away.

We have met the enemy and he is us,

It's difficult for me to feel too horribly sorry for you when you're offended by what people call it. At least you've gotten one check out of it, and you seem to think you'll get another.

Be happy about that, not sour. I've been taxed for old people my entire working life too, and I'm never going to see a dime of it. Social Security has already been insolvent for over two years, and by the time I'm old people and ready to be supported it'll be long gone.

Give me back what I've paid in, no more - I'll eat the return I could have earned had it been properly invested - , and then take my name of the "entitlement" list, OK?

Why not demand back all the taxes you've ever paid? I'd support you in that, of course, but you wouldn't get very far.

When people lose the freebies and get hungry or there are too many standing in line, then people will start fighting. It started 11-6-12 and gets worse from there. Already the O leaving the country.

A few thoughts:

I work for a company that uses contactors to install pipelines. All pipeline workers have to pass a drug test. Well, just ditch diggers/helpers can't pass drug tests, so we have to hire Hispanics whow can pass drug tests. So, it is not all Republicans fault for looking the other way. Americans who have grew up on welfare are mostly drug users and can't find jobs, for real.

Now, don't give up so easily.

1) Call, write, or email your congressmen, senators, and the white house at least weekly. They will be overloaded with what we really want or don't want. I know this takes time, but the squeeking wheel gets the grease.

2) Work locally for conservative cantidates from dog catcher, city counsels, mayors, county commissioners, sheriffs, state senators and representatives, governors, congressmen and US senators. If you can't get your man elected, try to get the most conservative one elected. Obama can't do his evil deeds alone. Again this takes time, but walking down the street in your neighborhood and trying to convince your neighbors will help. It might get some registered to vote, and some over to our side.

3) Pray if you are a Christian for God to forgive us as a nation, and help us have revival in this country, and turn things around. Even if everyone doesn't become a Christian, if they live by Christian principles, things will turn around. Remember we are the salt of the earth, to season it for God, and salt is used to preserve. Christian principles are simple, don't steal, don't lie, don't commit adultry, honor (respect) your parents, treat others they way you want to be treated, take care of the truely needy and elderly, shun or rebuke those who lie, are disrespectful, and who violate these good things, make them feel guilty so they will change and do good. If you do something wrong, admit it, ask forgiveness, and change.

3) The young today are none of the above, and need these instructions. Teach the hard work ethic, teach them to save, and not get what they want on credit all the time.

Keeping freedom and the republic, takes work, diligence, sometime hard work, but it can be done. Believe.

We might also have to change things one piece at a time. We might have to legalise pot and tax it. This may be a way to save money and stress on the justice system, and deal with the really hard stuff like meth and crack.

We might have to be satisfied to outlaw partial birth abortions or late term abortions after 5 months (babies can live outside the womb after 5 months). Then work it down earlier.

We might have to give in to raising taxes on the wealthy a little, IF they will cut some of these entitlements.

We need to push for changes in the health care laws like limits on lawsuits for malpractice, allowing insurance companies to cross state lines. Then push to exempt Catholic and other Christian employers from having to pay for abortions and birth control. These can be obtained through other means right now anyways.

We need to go back to tax laws which make it cheaper to stay married than to live together. I know of a town in Alabama that 85% of their utility bills go to single women. The single woman gets help with utilities, welfare, child care, food stamps, etc. They shouldn't get all that unless they can identify the fathers of their children and pay some back in taxes somehow. Aid should always be less than minimum wage, so they will go to work.

Lots of things can be pushed for and done.

We need to fight any and all gun control. Letters, calls, emails, not just to congressman, but senators and the president. Push, push, push back.

We can't just give up and go hid in our bunkers waiting for it all to happen. But on the other hand we do need to prep for the worse, but work hard to get back to the best.

If there weren't a horde of illegals flooding the market and depressing the wages, there would be sober Americans that would do those jobs. I simply don't buy that argument because it is a given that there are Hispanics available and depressing the wages. Heck, I dug ditches for free growing up. I dug the water main ditch for our home, and it wasn't a short stretch to dig. My father once told me he'd make a deal with me ... if I dug the hole for the septic tank, he'd fill it in, LOL. I once told him, "you know, all my buddies get an allowance for doing hardly any work at all, and I work all the time for free." I was really joking, and not seriously complaining, but his reply was classic. He reached in his pocket and tossed me a quarter while laughing and said, "Here you go. Now don't ever say I didn't give you something for your trouble." We both had a good laugh at that and I never complained or felt bad for doing chores and work around the house. Of course, he walked the walk too. He could and would work from before daylight until after into his 70's.

You can talk about lazy folk and trashy folk, but there are hardworking people out there that will do a job if the pay is competitive. The illegals depress and skew the market.

An immigrant who was a career government employee bashing immigrants and government dependency.

Huh.

If the sky is falling then it was falling with Romney too. I never see so much projection in my life, as when election season rolls around and the American Right, such as it is, fills the empty vessel of their candidate with qualities he doth not possess. While painting the other guy as the Antichrist personified.

One main difference between the two is that Romnuts was bristling with the kind of military adventurism that gives Viagra-quaffing retired government employees like Jorge a case of the spins. Since that sort of bullcrap is a large part of what has put our nation in it's current hamstrung position, I'm at least glad that the president we have knows the difference between his dick and a destroyer. A small silver lining, hopefully.

And finally, as evidenced by posts on this very thread, the Entitlement Nation that we are, and have been, and will be, is virtually untouchable politically. One glance at a pie chart of the federal budget, and another glance at the demographics of the Baby Boomer population bulge, show anyone with a brain that just SS and Medicare are gonna ass-rape us, dry, with a French tickler on, for decades. You think politicians are gonna cross that voting bloc to take away benefits those folks have already "earned"?

I bet your .gov pension and benefit package exceed the average income of actual working Americans, Jorge. You, sir, are part of the problem, if the problem is indeed a large bloated federal government. Just sayin'.

We lost this war and arguably the Republic because of what I call the "Four Bs", Blacks, Beaners*, Broads and Bozos.

Blacks as expected voted skin color but in reality they are only about 12% of the population and given the past history of which they keep trying to guilt us everyday, I can't really blame them. The Bell Curve principle comes to mind.

Beaners*: A term that really includes the Third World and not just south of the border types. The democraps have been of a fifty year mission of importing these dredges, and statistics show 85% of immigrants do in fact come from the Third World. Today, if you are say a German scientist, Swedish Enginner, British Doctor, etc, good luck in getting in legally. I also must exclude *MY* ethnic group, Cubans as we were a political migration of mostly whites and have SEEN the evils of socialism/marxism, Cubans vote the right way. Unfortunately that too is changing with the new generations being born and bred in Blue States. As for numbers, they make up about 14% of the nation right now and in fifty years I predict they will be a majority or close to it.

Broads: What can I say about women? Since they were first allowed the vote in Wyoming in 1868, we've been on an inexorable path to the Nanny State and statistics clearly show democraps would only have seatred one President (Johnson) in the Whitehouse without their vote. They are a HUGE block.

Bozos: We have quite a few on this forum and they sure "showed us" by the shocking statistic of 3M Repubs who stayed home. A lot of these are conspiracy, survivalist wannabee kooks, pining for Armageddon, so they can play at "Walking Dead" and other mental-masturbation he-man scenarios.

All these facts are clear evidence the makeup of this nation, that is white Anglo-Saxon Protestants (mostly Germans actually) embodied in the Protestant Work Ethic are rapidly fading into history with no hope of getting them back. This election was a watershed and to paraphrase Sir Edward Grey on the eve of WWI, "The lights are going out all over this country and we shall not see them on again in our lifetime." The way I see it is NEVER.

To those of you that voted for the marxist, or who think we should "widen our tent" and compromise our principles: FOAD.

He seems to forget that also I'm making a bit (quite) a bit more in the private sector than I ever did as a member of the armed forces.
Thanks for that, and this and other moronic things he's said in the past is why I probably despise this metrosexual loser more than anyone else on this forum.

PS: yes jeff,my pension is about twice the average income of the average family of four. Problem is, I'm not nor have I ever been "average". You know "average" ,a goal that's obviously eluded you throughout your (below) average life....

The idea of National pride and honorable men and women working for the common good of their families and the common good of the Nation they actually love, appears to be sadly no more.

It has been replaced with a focus on individual desire with no concern for family or a country they no longer love. If people really cared about family, they wouldn't be willingly passing burdens on to their children and their children's children. If they cared about country and what it should stand for, they wouldn't accept the idea that Socialism is good for them because of the lie it will make them equal.

As has always been the case, a lie is far easier to believe, especially when it tells you what you want to hear...

An "entitlement" is simply something you are entitled to. The Gov't promised that in exchange for your payment, they'd give you a monthly benefit. Simple right?

But everyone knew and a few would even admit, from the beginning that SS is an unsustainable Ponzi scheme.

You were lied to and your money was stolen.

Don't feel too bad, you are getting far more from it than I ever will. I will continue paying into the pyramid and never see a dime in return. That's OK with me, because I can plan on that. But you've got to understand that the gravy train is about to run out of track. The math NEVER worked. I hope you come out OK.

I can make the same exact statement as Swifty re never accepting any veteran's benefits I'm entitled to.That's why it turned my stomach to read all the posts awhile back encouraging a 'fire member who was obviously gaming the VA system.

I paid in the maximum amount of S.S. most years for 50 years of my life.I've been told that if my contributions had been put into a passbook account at a bank,I'd never live long enough to get MY money back.

Now y'all claim that's a lie and I'm on the dole.

Somebody was/is lying.

If I'm already on the dole,I might as well run down to the VFW and get them to get me some $$$ for my hearing loss suffered from 1960 to 1964 in the USMC.

Them kids coming back from Afghanistan and Iraq with missing limbs can just get in line behind me.

Nah...... I reckon not.I'll get by with getting back what I paid in.

And sleep good.

I understand that the train is gonna crash, but that is only because they had wiped out a 2.3 Trillion surplus by 2006. So tis neither here nor there, but heres some facts ya might like to ponder.
"
Republican National Debt: $12 Trillion and Counting

January 11, 2012. Republicans blame the "Democratic Congress" for their debt increases. The trouble is that Congress was only Democratic 8 out of the 20 years, and in those 8 years, on average, Congress passed smaller budgets than the Republican presidents requested. The specifics are all right here: It Was the Republicans.

So, let's add up the debt under Reagan and the Bushes. We can't blame Reagan for the debt's increase until his first budget took effect, October 1, 1981. Then, for 12 years until Sept. 30, 1993, the Republicans ballooned the debt. Later, George W. Bush took over.
Under Reagan and Bush: $3.4 Trillion increase in the debt.
 Under George W. Bush: $6.1 Trillion.[1]
Total: $9.5 Trillion. (without counting interest)

But wait, there's interest on that debt

The debt went up during Clinton's years only because of $2.2 Trillion interest on the Reagan-Bush debt. Otherwise Clinton would have paid off most the remaining WWII debt. G.W.Bush got sand-bagged by Reagan.

Just like a mortgage, the debt earns interest, and so the Reagan-Bush-I debt grew during the Clinton years. The average debt interest rate in those years was about 6.5%, which would increase it over 50% without compounding, but with compound interest the total debt including interest increased by $2.2 trillion.
Total Republican debt from above: $9.5 trillion
Interest on Reagan-Bush debt under Clinton: $2.2 trillion
Interest on $11.7 trillion after G. W. Bush: $0.3 trillion
 (detailed calculation)
Grand Total Reagan-Bushes Debt: $12 trillion (as of Sept. 30, 2010).

If the Republicans had not run up this $12 Trillion debt, we could easily have pulled out of the Great Recession.
"

Couldnt get the graphs to load so here is a link to the site, although I doubt anyone in here cares to read this.
