Sometimes the best thing to do is to ruck up and move forward.

My sister was diagnosed type 1 when she was 17, she's 47 now and doing OK. She's been on an insulin pump for a long time. I've been type 2 for about 6 months now. It does take management and paying attention but it can be controlled.

Get him and you into a diabetic teaching class, I found it helpful to learn why diabetes is about more than just the blood sugar levels.

Good luck hunting,

Dale

Where ever the road takes me
Rory,
Our youngest was diagnosed at age sixteen, five years ago. It was tough then and still can be. It does get a little easier to deal with as you learn about it.

Call me any time you want. I have some beverages here in camp just thirty miles south. Stop by any time.

That infamous spot in CT...
Been that kind of week for me too! Sandy snapped the utility pole in front of my house in half, ripping my electric off the side of the house. Was without power for 7 days, and when they replaced the pole they cut my cable and internet and left them coiled on the ground, no TV or Internet for a week. Luckily I had a generator I bought last year and was at least able to save everything in my freezer. I think of them poor souls in NJ and NY and think "ya know, this ain't THAT bad..."

Hope all gets better for you.

Blitz
