Ok , you got me...I think I even bought a take off barrel from you..The problem I have is new take-offs can be had for 1/10th the price, still shoot 1/2 in. groups, and stuff consistently dies in front of them. So yeah, I'm cheap.... grin

I agree, and tend to use take-offs when they're available in the caliber/contour/length I'm looking for.

I just wish there were a few more quick twist 22 caliber Remington tubes laying around. eek

On a practical note, there is occasionally a 9 twist SPS tactical take-off barrel up for sale. Though they are 20 inches, the two I've been around both spun the 75 Amax wonderfully (even at SAAMI 223 speed).

Don't mean to hijack this thread but I just bought an older tang safety Ruger 22-250. Were these 1-12 or 1-14?
