It appears that Winchester Repeating Arms Company has maintained a tradition of presenting each US president since Abraham Lincoln with a specially engraved Winchester lever action rifle. I wonder if Obama received one.

I think they are going with a revolver design.

I think they are going with a revolver design. Yeah, that's the one he needs to be presented with, for sure.

I wonder if Obama received one. WRAC, and it's employee-owned successor, USRAC, no longer exist. Don't know what effect that had on the tradition, but it likely didn't help it much.

As I understand, he was presented a gun as tradition and accepted it
Only sitting US president to refuse a gun:
Bill Clinton

On the subject of Biden, not that I would approve, but if somebody took a shot at Obama I wouldn't be surprised - and I don't think fear of putting Crazy Joe in charge would be a deterrent. If Biden took over in that situation, I doubt we'd see his cowardly ass leave a secure bunker until "his" term was over.

Haven't heard of such a presentation. Winchester (Olin) went out of business in 1980 (sold to employees) as US Repeating Arms (went out of business in 1989) and then, sold to Hartzel (FN, Browning, etc.). With all these changes, I assumed the practice of presenting the US President an engraved rifle was over.

Anyone have any connections with what's currently operating under the name Winchester?
