I just replace the rear sight with the Skinner peep and dovetail filler blank. Sighted in with just a couple of turns on the elevation and no windage adjustments needed. I also installed Barrel Band Swivel and Stud .
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

That's a GOOD LOOKING set up! Am thinking, that's what I NEED for my 94-22 Mag.
How abouth the front sight? Did you have to go with a taller sight? If so, How much?
Thanks! Virgil B.

That's GREAT!
Already have a fiber optic front and didn't really want to change it.
Mind me asking, how much? and where did you get it?
Thanks! Virgil B.

I order from the Skinner Wed site and he shipped the same day i ordered. I had the sight in a couple of days. My Marlin 39 i used the Williams Sight and my Trapper 94-22 i used a Leupold Compact 4 power scope.

Virgil, I have one on my 39A. It does need the taller front. But I make it work at 50 yards. Cannot sight it in at 100 until I get the taller front.

OK,I guess I don't understand this. You have it sighted in at 50 using the sight you have but to get out to 100 yards you need a taller front? Won't a taller front sight make your barrel go lower or am I backwards in this??? thanks for clarifying

The Skinners are top notch. I have them on several of my Marlins & I'll give you an tip. I always get the bass front sight dovetail insert in .500" tall ($16.00)& file it to the desired height. My 1894 needed almost all of the .500" height but my 39A needed filing down to about .355" Easy to trim & you have plenty to work with from the get-go. Best money I've ever spent on aftermarket sights! Good luck!

Won't a taller front sight make your barrel go lower or am I backwards in this??? thanks for clarifying Marko ... I had my head securely up my arse when I made that statement. I was recalling something I read a year or two ago on Skinners sight and applied it to my situation, but my situation was the opposite. I need to file my current sight. My rear sight is maxed out on height. ... I'm zeroed on 50, but want to try open irons for some of our 100 rf shoots. (Won a couple lately with scopes, so next year, I'm gonna try open irons) Should be lotsa fun ... I hope. If I don't get around to it, I'll probably shoot the mountie that has a williams rear peep. I like the idea of the longer sight radius of the standard 39A. Time will tell. I'd like to get my wife shooting with the open irons on the Mountie!!

I put a Skinner on my 444 a couple years back and did have to change out the front sight. I had a few laying around and used one I think came off a 700 that fit the bill.

Been trying to figure out how to order from the Skinner website.
Just don't get it.
They say you can't order over the phone, and can't figure out how to use the "cart" to order on line.
Any clues? Thanks!

Won't a taller front sight make your barrel go lower or am I backwards in this??? thanks for clarifying Decided to go with some washers underneath the rear sight to get me where I want to be. That way I won't have to mess with my current sight which I kinda like. (factory white dot)
