Does Jim Beam burn/charcoal their barrels,or is that just Jack Daniels? Beam uses NEW barrels and they char the inside....they don't use old wine or other barrels...all new to them. All bourbon makers must use new barrels for the product to be bourbon.

Dont get me wrong..I like the Single Barrel Jack, and Gentleman Jack too...but Im not that big of a sour mash fan. I can choke it down when times are tough....or its free  My sister lives in Ann Arbor MI...I can never get over how many festivals and schitt they have...trying to manufacture fun.....really lame schitt. I'll let you in on a little secret: If you're drinking bourbon, it's 99.9% likely to be sour mash whether the label says so or not.

Sour mash isn't a variation or type of whiskey as much as it is a process...or so I am told....I.E. JD Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey. It is Tennessee Whiskey that uses the age old process of using some sour mash from a previous distilling....I wait correction.
