I'd be one bummed out cookie if I couldn't shoot in the winter!

Heck, my barrels don't even get hot from about early November till the end of March... grin

RL17 is great powder if you shoot in the same conditions...

You are not gonna be happy with it if you start shooting year around.

Test loads in summer and shooting here in winter, I saw over 250 fps second swings !

I think ScenarShooter saw even more with RL17 in northern Montana.

H4350 does incredible in my 6mm Crusader, only lost 55 fps and gained incredible temp stability. 105's at 3301 here in the 307.

well that confirms what I saw, I think when the temps get over 80 degrees with RL 17 things can get crazy. sometimes I would see 3325 or more and come back another day and be at 3200fps, but I was still getting 3/4" at 200 yards. it took me a little while to figure out the problems I was having since my groups were good at 200 yards and for some reason my 243 AI shows no pressure signs by looking at the brass. I never get extractor marks or flattened primers in this gun for some reason, all I do get is brass with loose primer pockets if the pressures are too high.

Really? Our range (private club) is open year round, just a matter of throwing on your ice fishing clothes and maybe taking some snow shoes to get to the 200yd pits.
