I've been gathering components for a fast twist 243 since June. SA700 SS is enroute (thanks Raghorn), Micky Edge MR handle, Rock #2 1-8 twist, Ptg BM, and Holland RL. She will be topped with a VX3 2.5x8-36. Last part I need is a trigger. Timney for like $130 vs Jewell for like $230. Now I realize being cheap and custom rifles don't go together. That said, is the Jewell REALLY worth the extra 100 clams??
I've been spamming our classifieds for a "stainless" unit with bolt release and safety (RH) with no luck. Anyone have one they're willing to part with?

Another vote for the Shilen, although I admit I have never owned a Jewell.

I have all 3 (Timney,Shilen,Jewell) and they all work sweet. Honestly Woodson, if the trigger shoes were made identical and I closed my eyes to squeeze each trigger...I would not know the difference between the three I have.
Which ever trigger has the best price would be my choice.

I have Jewell, Shilen, Timney, and factory 700s tuned. I'm with Tanner. A well-done old-school 700 trigger is plenty for me. But to answer your question... I'm one of the weirdos that doesn't love Jewells tuned to sporting rifle poundages. I prefer Jewells in the 1-2 pound range (which I really have no need for), but at 3 pounds, they have creep, albeit a very smooth creep.

I wouldn't recommend a tuned 700 as a blanket statement. Fit and finish in some years was chit. Other years were good. The Jewell is a beauty for under 2# weights. I prefer a SS Shilen on a hunting rifle. It might require the additional purchase of a Rifle Basix safety kit if you don't have a safety to take off another trigger.

Another vote for Shilen...

Have only used Rifle Basix and Jewell, and the Jewell is on a different planet. Have one set to 1.5lb on my 7-08AI, and it is something else. Got one coming for my 223AI. I have 5 Rifle Basix triggers, and I thought they were pretty good until I tried the Jewel. No experience with the Timney or Shilen.

I guess a 2 pound pull on a Jewell wouldn't suck. May as well splurge some more. Why stop now?

Of the two you mentioned, slamo dunk I'd go Jewell. And of all the triggers available I'd go Jewell.

I have used Factory Rem ,Rifle Basix and Jewell definately takes trigger pulls to a new level...cheapest place is Great scott shooters supply, plus they hold there value like no other trigger so if you think it's to over the top just sell it!
