Yep hunted in unit 34,but I killed mine yesterday,and the elk were playing hide and seek with me. The wind blew EVERYDAY,cold,and very few hunters were in the area.  Congrats to your kid!

My cousin dragged his 75-100 yds to the road. Mine we cut in half and used wheeled game carriers to get it 100 yds to a road. Barbarian Dan, you sure have some pretty elegant rifles for one of the unwashed horde. Take them from a monastery? They aren't all mine, but some are and yes, I ripped off Tibetan Monastery in the high Himalayas. In February. They don't really know kung fu.

Funny you would mention that,I was going to take a .375 H&H,but went with the "little" .338 instead.

The story on my cousins elk: We seen some elk about 30 minutes before legal light and wait,when we go looking for the elk,nowhere around. So we hunt for the rest of the day and finally find the herd about 45 minutes before dark,I shoot at one,it turns to the right and starts going down hill running,it crosses in front of my cousin,who drops it with a neck shot.I tell him he shot my elk,but when we look for the bullet hole it's NOT THERE just his. We think my shot grazed it making it run.
By the way I missed it with my .338 Win mag,and just to change my luck I started carrying the RUM,Monday afternoon.
