Nice. I'm going to have to break down and get me a 22 CF soon. Here is the .22-6mm,Interarms Mark X action,Montana Rifle Co barrel 26",B&C thumbhole stock desert camo pattern, and a Leupold 3-9x scope. What bullet do you shoot out of that? Speeds? That could be bitchin'.... TRavis

Mega- sweet.... Sporter or Heavy? Heavy....did the varmint setup ever have sights? This particular heavy has filler screws where sights should go, but it confuses me as to if this heavy barreled version ever did. No, the varmint never had sights..but it might be drilled for Aperature sights front and rear, or target blocks...

Is that "factory ammo" on the table? They were reloads from burned up factory stuff. Travis

Was out working a wood project this morning, playing with tools far sharper than they oughta be. Only leaked red a couple of times. When it's done it will look something like this, only about twice as long: Now you're thinkin', WTF does this have to do with .223 AI's? My neighbor came over to check it out and after a minute asked if I wanted to go shootin'. He has access to a short private range about a mile down the road. I grabbed a M1 Carbine, box of factory stuff and the muffs. Worked it offhand, put a dozen or so into a hand sized group at about 35 yards, banged the spinners a half dozen times and handed it off to the neighbor and his buddy. Buddy loaded a mag, emptied it and didn't hit squat. He didn't like the sights. The neighbor somehow did some things I never imagined possible. Forgot about the safety, tried to slow cycle the bolt and stove piped it. Got that squared away, bang-jam, fixed, bang,bang-jam. Got frustrated. I've run several hundred rounds thru the gun and it never jammed on me. I suppose he may not have been pushing the rounds all the way to the rear when he loaded the mag. Didn't understand you're 'sposed to just let the bolt slam forward when charging it the first time. He gave it back to me. Bang-clang, bang-clang, bang-clang. I have a hard time understanding how any grown man in this era can not know how to operate a combat rifle. Geesh... Hope the owner don't get pizzed about the holes in his spinners. Carbine Williams is one of my heroes. People can pizz and moan about the .30 Carbine round all they want, but if one understands what it can and cannot do, and how to use it to best advantage, the M1 is a dandy knock about that kills chitt deader'n a stump. Helluva truck rifle... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Marshall_Williams

Barbarian Dan,
Full length eh? Barrel and all?
Travis All. Did it in two stages. Relieved the barrel channel and did that, then the receiver. Accra-glas gel. Used the action screw to hold it together while the barrel bed hardened, then surgical tube on the barrel while the receiver job hardened. General idea was to not put a lot of stress on anything while the goop hardened up. I've done a couple in this fashion and when all was said and done they both turned into shooters with factory barrels. The second was a standard model with the barrel band. The owner shot it without the band for awhile then put it back on with no ill effects. Guess if the barrel doesn't get hot, and mostly RF barrels really don't, the barrel band is a moot issue with the FL bed theory. Getting ready to do another here in a few months for another neighbor. YMMV BD

DD you were not far off,it could go faster, but the coyotes will not know the difference.

Smart a**,are you going to the Sierra Vista shindig? If so I'll bring my .22-6mm for you to shoot. This is a 6mm Remington necked down to .22 cal with no other changes. It is NOT FOR BLASTING AWAY AT PD'S!!
