I HAVE KILLED MORE WITH A 30 CAL THAN ANY OTHER. I STARTED WITH A 35 REM IN MARLIN 336. NEXT WAS A REM M700 30-06 THEN WENT TO A 300WM IN BROWNING BAR. I WILL HAVE TO HUNT SERVAL YEARS TO CATCH UP TO THE NUMBERS IT IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR. I BOUT A CUSTOM SAKO 25-06 THIS YEAR AND IT IS QUICKLY GROWING ON ME.
I GUESS IF I HAD TO PICK ONE DO-ALL CALIBER TODAY IT WOULD BE THE 300WM. NOT MUCH I CANT DO WITH IT!!!

2nd choice: 7Mag to .25'06 for LR,
.308 Win for close in the bush

I'm partial to something in the range of .224"-.730" calibers, inclusive.

7mm-08
.30-30
.300 WM
.270
I've killed more deer with .300WM and .270 than I have with my top two but for the hunting I do in Northern Minnesota, the 7mm-08 and .30-30 are my go to calibers. Plus I really like the rifles they are chambered in. Tikka T3 Lite for 7mm-08 and Marlin 336 RC. Both are great shooters.
