Ranger is alright. Kind of a hippy version of an IPA. Sierra Nevada in cans is better for a session and goes great with flyrods, rafts, and steak fajitas.

Guys that can drink three without vomiting tend to like them.

Hard to follow what Digital Dan posted but here is my son coyote calling with the old man,he seen one just as it went behind some brush and that is all there is to report.

He's carrying his momma's Savage .22-250.

He is,he shot that Savage sighting it in for coyotes, and he shot a .875 or so group! The problem is getting a coyote in close enough and be still while he shots it. smile

Yep they do that. Do you use coyote pee to cover your scent? I do,so when they come in on my downwind side they smell another dog's piss.

No,this is below Las Cruces at a place called Afton Station, which is a natural gas pumping station.

That is Mt.Riley to the right which are about 4-5 miles North of the US/Mexico border.

I miss calling and shooting dogs in Travis' part of Montucky. It's like you see on the TV.

Calling here in NW Montana is a whole 'nuther ballgame Here, you need at least two guys, and 3 is better. Whoever is on the downwind side usually gets the shooting done, and the guy calling 90% of the time doesn't even know a dog is there. When I call here, I leave the rifle in the truck and take Ol' Muleshoes. Usually you get "Lapdogs" and/or sprinters. 41 pellets at a time through timber ups one's odds considerably.

Down here it looks like this, and this is an open spot, most of my shots are 100 yards or less and 2-3 shooters IMO is enough.

Behind my son you get a good look at the terrain.

Make all that sagebrush evergreen trees and you've got an idea what my AO looks like.

Even where you have open country, 'yotes tend to stay in the timber and skirt the edges of it. Especially areas where wolves are also present.
