Hopefully I'll get my red dot up and running on my rifle this Monday and I can chase squirrels and other things with it. It's been two days this year and I haven't whacked a squirrel.

I'm lagging laugh

I haven't called in almost a year. Got a chance to get out today and wanted to try out my .25-06 deer load and just happened to call up a test candidate. 117 gr. Hornady BTSP over 50 grains of IMR 4350. He hung up at 175 yards but that proved close enough! Young male, he's about the smallest coyote I've shot.

Would a normal person use a 12 gauge slug meant to bring down a deer for a ground squirrel?

[Linked Image]

Good thing I am not normal, give me some time and I will find a squirrel stupid enough to hang around too long.

Got some more "limb bacon" yesterday with the Curs... grin

Also pinched another possum this morning, but we let the little booger go..

Winnie, I'm sure those slugs would leave a lasting impression on a ground squirrel.. grin

I heard Indiana is going to be making rabbit and squirrel seasons much shorter; mainly because 2 kids that recently moved there from Montucky are greatly depleting the populations! laugh
