I am looking for a nice used scope to put on a model 700 youth rifle. I am a Zeiss and Leupold guy but saw this model for sale and was wondering if any of you have experience with it first hand?

I have used several of the FFII on rifles up to .340 Weatherby and they work famously.

In my opinion they are one of the best buys on the rifle scope market.

This is just my opinion. And it is of much older Burris Scopes. You will have to look long and hard for somebody to have anything negative to say about them. I cannot speak for the newer ones. But I will be buying a couple of the 3 to 9's with the ballistic Plex. And am betting that they will be just as good or better than the older ones.

Been using the FF II 3x9x40 for years, I put it on my beloved 257 wby mk V as a temporary and still resides there after many years. Fully Multi-Coated, steel on steel clicks and tough as nails. If it dies tomorrow it does'nt owe me a thing. Bought a spare gloss on closeout for $119 last year and it's still sitting in the gun case.

I own one. My buddies own two and I have a Burris Signature Select too. They are great scopes and we are all very pleased with the results so far. The Signature is nicer glass, but not by a lot and definitely now "twice as good". That is what I had to pay to get it.

I have a couple of the Pentax Pioneers which originally just rebadged FFIIs great scopes. I saw one nib in the classifieds a couple of days ago pretty cheap be a good option for you

I've had a couple FF IIs and been quite pleased.

I have a few and LOVE them all. I dropped the rifle on my first and bent the tube. They repaired & replaced it at no charge.

I've had one on a light weight hard kicking '06 for several years and it has held up nicely.

I can't speak to the durability/value of the new E1 but I can say that the reticle is busier than the simple, neat BP on the Phillipine-made FFII.

I have a US made FF III with Burris plex dots, a 3-9 on a walking varminter 22.250. Several years old, no problems, and decent optics IMHO. Jack

Yes, just as clear as my Leupolds!

I would use them if they didn't have the european style ocular lens with the rubber cover. It makes it hard to use the flip up covers.

The way the mag setting is changed on these FFII's does make using the flip-up caps pretty much impossible.
Not a problem for me however since I can't use them anyway since they aren't lefty friendly.

Yeah the zoom on them is difficult for some folks but I read somewhere that it's part of the design that makes them so durable. It's a tradeoff I can live with, I just use different lens caps.

You'll like it just as much (if not more) than a more expensive leupold. Excellent glass and if you go with the ballistic plex reticle you don't have to worry about dialing chit and making things more complicated. Very hardy scopes at a great price...Never have had one fail and I use the chit out of them...

This is the only negative I've ever been able to find on the Fullfield II scopes. I've been using them for quite some time, and have them on everything from .22 rimfires to centerfire deer rifles. Great scopes for the money!
