John, I just got around to reading your article re: the Savage 12 LRP in the November Guns mag. So ... what did you REALLY think about it? I've looked at getting one several times but I always hold off bc 1. I'm thinking it will be too heavy to carry anywhere but a target bench and 2. I'm thinking that trigger will be too light for anything but a target bench

I seem to recall saying what I thought in the article!
If you think it's too heavy and the trigger too light for anything except bench shooting, then it definitely is for you.

One of the reasons many of us like JB's writing is that he doesn't make his articles sound like an extended advertisement for whatever product he's using. He calls them as he sees them and doesn't apologize for it. Unlike some the other gun writers out there...

We do tend to jaw about rifles on the Campfire! Probably even more than we do in person....
My sample was obviously a very accurate rifle, but also obviously not designed for much walking around.

Savage sells all their models chambered for the Creedmoor. The Model 16 Weather Warriors are fairly light and handy, and have the accu-trigger to boot. http://savagearms.com/firearms/finder/

John, in the article you indicated you wanted to do somemore testing of the scope you used. Have you done anymore testing and, if so, what are your thoughts? Also, am I wrong or is that scope very similar to the Kaspa "tactical" scope that is being sold by Weaver?
