No shameful stigma associated with the 25-06. This alone is enough. grin

Broncos are officially the worst team in the nation this year.

I've always worried they'd snag on my clothing when I was trying to get the gun into action on an animal.

Moosemike,
Do you reload? I have used the 110gr TSX out of my 270 on deer, blackbuck and Axis deer with no problems. Running about 3250 fps. The Axis deer was just on the other side of 300 yards, and a couple of the deer were just shy of 400.

You could also download your 270 with the 130gr to decrease the recoil. Running them at approx 2800 fps does make a difference in recoil compared to full house loads.

My wife, nephews and boys have all successfully shot deer/antelope with reduced loads out of our 270's. My one son even shot a deer with the 85gr TSX at 2000fps. 100 yard shot, complete pass though and the wound channel showed signs of perfect bullet performance.

With all that being said, there is nothing wrong the 25-06.
