Anyone else here bowhunt besides Ace?

I have hiked Around the mountains with a bow.

It's great when you're the only one out there.

I can see the zombies coming for a long ways. And they've a long way to go to get to me.


But when shcitheads drive to the high points and coulee edges when you walked a mile and a half to get there it can get [bleep] pretty quick.

Ross Cardiac. I've only drawn two bow elk hunts and did not kill anything.

Gruff, know what you mean, even in the wooded areas. That's the problem with not drawing for a hunt here. You have a limited area for open hunts and everyone wants to drive everywhere they can fit in trucks or ATVs.

We do have the huge Frank Church wilderness where no vehicles are allowed which would be fine if I could get enough time off for hunting to hike back in and pack out anything I get, but work ain't been too cooperative over the years.

Due to my seeming inability to draw for anything, I'm thinking of getting back into bows (been years). Tech has changed so much I got to do a lot of research and make sure I'm not paying for hype. As in any hobby, you can pay way more than necessary.

My buddy told me to check a local shop for good used bows cause, apparently, there are bow loonies who need the newest/fastest/best every year.

We call our valley the Magic Valley cause without the engineering miracle of our canal system everything would still be sage and cheatgrass instead of thousands of acres of nice farmland!
