I just picked up an old Winchester 67 that has the grooved fore-end. It has no serial number, and am wanting to know the aprox. date of manufacture?
I got a new 67A in 1962, and it had the rounded fore-end, and Dad had a grooved fore-end model that he got some time in the 1930's
Any ideas? Thanks!

No serials on these. All I know is 1934 - 1960 something grooved forearms are older. I have one and would like to know as well.

Not serially numbered. Introduced in 1934, discontinued in 1963. A total of 383,587 were made when the parts clean up began. About 2,100 guns were assembled in the final parts clean up. Quoted from Winchester, First Edition copyright 1981, 1984 by George Madis

Found out over on RimFire Centeral, that my old Winchester 67 was prolly manufactured 1935 to 1937
The finger groove forearm and extruding take down screw, date my rifle to this time frame. Thanks!

Didn't even think my rifle would be pre-WW11! Wow, what a find!
Dad's was a pre-WW11, but in didn't know when the finger grooved fore-arm had ended.
Neat information!
This makes my "new to me" 67 even more invalueable!
Thanks for the help...

Got out and shot my "new to me" 67 yesterday. Was shooting small red 'taters 'bout 1.5" dia. Hit 7 out of 10 at 30 yards, resting on one elbow. Did better than I figured these old eyes would do with open sights. This little rifle sure brings back a lot of fond memories....

Hey Moe,
Production stopped on the finger grooved forearm in 1935. Figgured some might have lasted 'till 1936. Also, production of the Winchester 67 started in 1933 and ended in 1963. Lots of great info over on RimfireCenteral.
