Jedi:

The only time that I actually cooked inside a backpack tent I used an MSR Whisperlite and I burned a hole in the floor of the tent. Since then I have cooked outside. When the weather is bad I'm in the vestibule. This allows for ventiltion and it keeps the flame (specially when priming) out from under the tent roof. But you can sit back, under the roof and out of the elements.

Of course I use stoves of all kinds inside floorless tents (usually big wall tents) without any problem.

I cook inside my vestibule all the time. But not in the tent cause I worry about the floor. I keep the flame away from the walls. Tents nowmadays have so much ventilation there are no concerns about co.
