4 of us were able to make it out to Post, Tx last week to hunt with Toby Joe and his father Joe Truby. Joe and I hunted together and I was able to connect on this great aoudad.I was about 25 feet above him as he was running away about 80-100yds away and I placed the shot just above his hip and the bullet landed in his chest area putting him down. Thought I would share this hunt and anyone considering a hunt for aoudad can't go wrong with Toby Joe Truby. My rifle is a cooper excalibur in 270 win, I was shooting 130 gr accubonds.

When I talked to him earlier this week he said you guys were a great bunch of guys. Glad you had fun. I'm gonna try to get down there yet this winter, but don't know if it's gonna work out or not.

Ya broke the magical 30" mark...awesome!

That looks like a beauty. I would love to hunt these in the West Texas mountain country.

Funny thing is most people view aoudads the same as hogs, pests.

They will chew the hell out of just about anything, even feeders.

They may chew stuff in a high fence enviroment, but these are free range sheep. Besides maybe making a hole or 2 under barbwire fences, I have yet to see a sheep do much damage.
