Thinkin' about, & praying for "Unca D" & Family.

Too Bloody cold to even think about fishing.

Morelike, mmmm, deer chilli for the game on Sunday, & back straps, wrapped in bacon, roasted taters with fixin's & steamed brussellsprouts with horseradish hollandaise sauce, for tonight.

Nice looking gun, Ron. It will serve you well.

Not in the market for anymore rifles at the moment, but one can never say never.

We bottomed out at minus 12. Looks like it made it up to 3 above.

Heading over to the Iola Winter Festival Saturday. Looks like my wife is finaly going to get a chance to try Lutefisk. Although she did say something like "No way in H@#l".

Yes and no is the answer. We bought the tiny 1.6L eco-boost version. It will not have to tow, though it might tow my ubiquitous 14' aluminium fishing boat and 9.5 Johnson just fine, it will never have to. We run a pair of smallish draft horses that go about 1250# each so the F150 does all of our towing, from big stuff like Rusty and Adler to little stuff like hay racks or boats. The Escape ferries dogs and wife. Easy stuff. If I'm lucky I'll steal it a few times this summer to fit it up with my shooting gear and roll off to New Mexico and such places to shoot rifle matches, but otherwise, it's the wife's transport. Friggin' pricey bastards too. But then they all are.

It was -25 on lake of the woods this morning. We put one sauger in the pail at 8:15 last night. 2 small throw backs so far this morning.

OK Dave, I'll bite......what's a tulipee? I'll guess it's a free-form yellow design in snow outside an Ice Castle.

The kids and I are headed out today to watch our very own Goalie in a hockey game. Reports to follow.

First we're going to FINALLY pick up Ms. Princess' bow she got for Christmas. It took forever since she's a lefty.

I forget what i reportrd last. But we are only at 3 keepers in the walleye/sauger category, kept one pike and released another.

Ray, tulipee is a whitefish. Good for smoking, oily.

If you have to take a second shot then you probably shouldn't have taken the first shot.

Gophergunner PM'ed me and told me about tulipee also, Dave. They seem similar to whitefish found in Lake Erie. Turns out Jeff (Gophergunner) is from PA and we traveled some of the same trails. We had quite a trip down memory lane. Good people, good times here at Deer Camp!

Well it worked!

Dude, lunch was the LEAST I could do for you. That was great a great game and a great way to spend a day with the kids.
