FJ, that elk came from southern New Mexico but yes...we have about 1200 elk here ater the calves drop and a hunt each fall of about 150 - 200 permits. You can win the lottery easier. The elk country is around my hunting property and this year "Guy57" and myself helped "boatboy" from on here to bag one.
Boatboy? No way! I know him and he is a good dude! That is great! Nice going.

it goes with the 63 10/4 on that. I find that in my old age, I get in much less trouble and spend lot less money when I fondle firearms rather than females of the opposite sex........... Here is a colt woodsman that was purchased new by my great aunts husband in 1950. He later was found on a dead end road in an oilfield with this pistol by his side and a bullet hole in his right temple. I do not know if it was ever shot again. My great aunt kept it all those years and gave it to my dad before she passed away a couple of years ago. He gave it to me. I have not shot it. One of my safe queens. Had a mint 1st series Woodsman for years. It had never been shot. Sold a couple years ago for $1200. Beauty of a rocket... Did not stir my soul even a little. OTOH, I know a fella that dropped a 6x6 elk with one of the same series and vintage guns. Never goes anywhere that it isn't on his hip.
