Good stuff man.
I think the 168 Ballistic Tip, for its construction, is the most impressive bullet of everything tested.
I was thinking the same thing, for a bullet that blows up when you talk to a lot of people it sure hung tough in your test. I shoot the 180's in my .30 cals.
When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

Thanks alot for taking the time to run that test and for writing it up.
I am also among the folks who are impressed by the 168 grain BT.
I will also have to say that the little 55 grain GMX intrigues me. I have a .223 bolt gun coming, and I may have to look into some of those.

Kman, Thank you for taking the time and effort to do the testing, and then share data and pictures with the rest of us. Empirical data is always much appreciated.

Excellent work. I'm eagarly awaiting the rest. Kind of makes me glad I've got 300 of those blow up 168 NBT's from the shooters pro shop a few weeks ago. Going to put a load together for them in my .300 Win.

Thank you for all the kind words! I posted a quick update in the original thread regarding "old" and "new beefed up" Nosler ballistic tip construction. The 168gr I tested had the beefed up jacket and the 180gr I have yet to test is of "old" construction.

If I am reading your results correctly the berger came completely apart in news paper and never penetrated the meat or bone ?

If I am reading your results correctly the berger came completely apart in news paper and never penetrated the meat or bone ? No, the berger penetrated 7" of newspaper after penetrating 4" of muscle and 5" of leg bone.

Take that, ya Berger Bashers! Also helps explain why everything I've shot with a Ballistic Tip in the past few years had an exit wound, even with the little 115 gr .257" B-Tips. They're pretty tough bullets. Thanks for the test KMan! I stick to water-filled jugs. Easy clean up. But I don't get to shoot bones & meat & stuff that way. Nice work. Guy

I saw a new 168 b-tip and an old one cut in half. The new ones jacket was allot thicker than the old jacket. Seem to show that in this test too. Do you know if the 180's seem thicker now too? Yes all the hunting B-tis are

Those solid coppers did real well. I have some Nosler 210gr. E-tips for the 338 to try. I hope they group well.
