Nah, I've been trying to find KIK locally, without success. I'm gonna order the heavier bullets & powder tomorrow. Today I tried some changes, a lube cookie and Swiss FFg, and had some success getting the fouling to stay soft, but the accuracy was no good. In fact it was a lot worse than the Swiss FFFg.

I did get a Red River Beech front sight, and it did seem to get me on target, so that at least is better.

I think you ought take some of those water barrels, stand them up, un-band the lids, and see how high the hydraulic effect will launch them grin

Here's some old technology, and new technology.

[Linked Image]

I slugged the bore, with one of the 300gr bullets, to see how well they fit. The new technology is the Nikon 105 VR Micro-Nikkor, used for the picture smile

George...are you still looking for a shotgun for your son?

They say a smart man learns from his mistakes, but a wise man learns from another man's mistakes.

I'm going to feign wisdom on this one. You go ahead and shoot that Jap knee mortar off YOUR shoulder. I'll watch.

Heck I wanna shoot his 8 bore. After that everything else oughta be easy. smile

It may be interesting, though, with 500 gr bullets out of a 7 lb .45-90, with a curved metal buttplate. blush

No video, I'm eeelectronically challenged, but I did manage to catch all 4 bullets, LOL.

At impact the steel threaded small cap pulled it's threads and danced by me on the right rolling across the field, the main banded lid blew off, the drum split at the seam and big dogknots were put in the bottom of all 4 drums.

The 458 WM with the 500 gr PP Woodleighs really surprised me with their penetration, at 2175 fps, thats a mean mother.

LOL ET, I'm gonna bring the 505 Gibbs, 577 Nitro, and 8-Bore too, there will be plenty of punishment to go around if one so chooses. grin

CT, their not bad, just a big push. blushlol

Tex, I will have the speed loaders loaded light for the 8-bore, if someone wants to step it up a bit, I can load the mid-range load up to 350 gr charge under the 850 gr round ball.

The full bore 400 gr charge of 2F Swiss really sucks to shoot. lol
