+1 on the H-1000. Not fast but steady. A sleeper !

Ha! skullduggery will get you nowhere! Just spoke with Big Mike, he'll let me know Wednesday if I can get an Oryx, in which case I'll fleet up to the 300.

BWalker; That makes perfect sense. I used to use 215s in all my loads the book said to use them, specifically the 338, 375 and the 300 Win Mag. Then a friend of mine who does a lot of reloading and knows some big shots at Federal, clued him in on the 210s and accuracy. I tried it with the 338 and 210s and the results were noticeable. In the 375 I used our own HHHack's load using RL-15 and 210s and so far it's worked great, although in my favorite load for that caliber I use H-414 (76g)and F-215s. The only caliber that did not work was with the 257 Weatherby where switching to the 210s gave me pressure signs. Go figure!

300 YARDS? Whoaa!

Not sure I have a rifle or the eyes to top that under any conditions. Very nice.

Looking to get started loading for another 300 win mag. I've got a bunch of partitions (600+) to send down range using RL22 and H4350.

A couple of folks mentioned goid results from H1000 with a 180 gr bullet. Nosler does not mention this powder. What are you folks using for a max load?

All my previous 300's liked RL22 75-76, but the current flavor does not. I get holes touching with 69-grs of H4350. Have not chronied the load yet. 70-grs IMR4350 does well too, but groups open a little. Am waiting to try some 168-grainers and some 200- grainers and H4831SC next range day.

I need to try some H1000, that is insane accurracy!

80 grains of H1000 or 74.5 grains of H4831 behind a 180 accubond bores out a ragged hole from my NULA model 28 ! The 175 LRX with 80 grains of H1000 does the same..

I have used the 72 gr load of IMR-4350 with several different 180 gr bullets with excellent accuracy in a couple of .300 Win Mags. It has worked well on elk and wild pigs.

For the 300 Win, I either run H 1000 for top velocity, and I tend to stray over book max on that one..

then I'll also use powders like IMR 4064, 4895 RL 15 in it with bullet weights from 150 to 190 grains..

on the lower end, I have also used it with up to 40 grains of SR 4759 with a 150 grain bullet, for when you just want to shoot it for target practice,

and even let kids take it out hunting with a cast bullet manual load of 22 grains of Unique and a 150 grain ballistic tip... which is pretty much duplicating 30/30 loads...

few local kids have taken deer with 'grandpa's elk rifle' using that load...

its enjoyable taking it out to the range with those load, so you are not wearing it out, or beating yourself up at extend range shooting.. which beats letting them just get dusty in the gun cabinet..

if I need it to really be a MAGNUM, I load it with 220 grain Round Noses, in a HOT load that is running that bullet at over 2950 fps... using H1000..

I have a Model 70 and a Browning A Bolt in 300 Win..

Look at H1000, I've fallen in love with the stuff lately in 300 Win mag and 25-06. I've had my Browning Stalker in .300 Win Mag for about 20 years now and tried all kinds of stuff and it's always been accurate but as of the last two years, accuracy has fallen off, even with my original go-to load and even though throats seem the same so I went back to the drawing board.

Last year I found that 180 grain Accubond 2nds with 81 grains of H1000 gets 3025 out of my 26" barrel. I worked up to this load and-you should too because it is above max in some manuals but OK in others. I get very low extreme velocity spread and it is consistent in velocity from 30 degrees to 80 degrees F, which I can not say the same about with RL22.

I almost gave up on that load since it was only shooting about 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards and the rifle always did better than that with loads it liked, then I shot it at 300 and 530 yards. I have always heard about some bullets and loads not settling down unil well past 100 yards but never noticed it myself until now. At 300 yards this load was shooting 1.75" groups! It only shot 1.5" at 100 yards. Then at 530 yards I only shot one group but it measured less than 5"!

I will now always check my loads at at least 200 if not 300 yards before giving up on them. I like the low variation in velocity with H1000.

In a 300 H&H Improved (2-3 fewer gr of capacity in my Hornady brass than Win Mag brass)... a max load of it under a 180 NBT produces 3090fps out of a 26" barrel (1952 Model 70).

Back when I ran a 300 WM (pre Mashburn days...grin) I used a 200 NPT and H1K.
