Rooster, did you dig your way out yet?

We picked up an inch of snow overnight. Strong winds a problem now. snow has drifted into 6" to 8" piles in the driveway.

We probably didn't even get a half inch. LOTS of high winds though and drifts.

It was 0* when I got to work this morning.

Temps been dropping all morning, down to 5*. Wind is 30 MPH. Glad I'm not up in a tree stand.

Tom,

That's because it belted us !

Over a 48 hr period, Saturday afternoon - Monday afternoon, we got about 14" of heavy white stuff.

Everytime I finished snowblowing, it would start again.

Beautiful & clear again now, but it's windy & cold.

At least, with the snow, the long weekend temps were warm enough to get out side. Snowboarding on Saturday, snowmachining Saturday night, Snow boarding Sunday & Monday.

Had a blast, but feeling my old mans legs today !

Happy Birthday PWM & Congrat to Muffy & Co.

Paul.

-12 and windy here this morning, but that wind pushed me right to the cities for work!

Interesting tidbit: Federal makes 70 .22 shells per second!

I called him to thank him and see what he needed as payment and he said "no no no its our pleasure! When we had the cows, we didn't have time for stuff like that but now we do so don't worry about it"

So here is my dilema. I don't want to offend him by insisting money payment. I know he doesen't drink beer too often. When he does drink its a special occasion and I think he drinks hard liquor. SO what can I buy the guy for doing that for us?

If he has a local restaurant that he likes, arrange to have the bill covered, or get him a gift certificate perhaps.

What's he running for a plow? Maybe a gift card for somewhere nearby where he gets his equipment serviced or buys parts.

Fuel.

I plow for a bunch of folks, have for years. And when someone does toss 10 bucks my way.... on the rare occasion... It goes right in the fuel tank, which is like... 2 gallons of gas lol. But it helps.

Fill a 5 gallon can with the right fuel for that tractor and set it where hes got to trip over it getting in the tractor, maybe a note or your name on the can so you get your can back. Im sure hes probably got a bulk fuel tank on the farm but still, it will be appreciated.

Something clever here.

I would second the fuel idea. But in addition, a warm plate of chocolate chip cookies goes a long way too!

28,855 attended Pheasant Fest. Man that was a fun day. Picked up a little wooden boxy maybe 6"X6"X4". Inside is candy or so you think until you pull off the lid and a mouse comes out at your hand. OHMYGOSH do my kids love it. The reactions are awesome.

Well some peope are just nice. smile Offer to pay for some gas for his rig and if he refuses, leave it at that.

I clear the neighbor's driveways if I'm out and thiers aren't done. I don't expect any sort of payment. At some point they'll have something I need to borrow or I'll be gone and they'll do mine.

I'm pretty sure thats how neighborhoods are supposed to work. smile

I so need to get my boys out after some ditch parrots. They are planning on spending a lot of time at the trap and skeet range this spring and summer.

Might have to be looking at a new pup before to long also as mine is getting pretty gray and the boys are just now hitting their teens and are primed to go hunting every waking chance they get.

My oldest boy is talking about being done deer hunting already. He is more into chasing birds then horns and prefers to stalk and do drives then tree sit. We may just focus on run and gun hunting in NoDak for the next couple of years. The pressure is to heavy here for any reasonable enjoyment.

I like chasing birds at least as much as deer, for grouse anyway.

I'll take turkey hunting over deer 10 of 10 times. I've never duck hunted, I'm afraid to try...I'll go broke. smile
