They wouldn't let us bring a keg into the stadium, so I bought fifteen one gallon jugs of fruit punch, poured out the punch and filled the bottles with beer and we carried them in in cheap styrofoam ice chests. There were quite a few funny cigarettes passed back and forth from the stage to the crowd. Willie played for hours.

Kenny Rogers with Dottie West and Kim Carnes, Kenny didn't impress me live, but the gals were terrific!

The best was surely Jackson Browne sometime in the early 80's, don't care for his politics but a bunch of those early songs were excellent and he did them all that night.
Second best was probably Stevie Nicks in the late 80's - WOO HOO!!
Or maybe Rare Earth in '72. Or Crosby Stills & Nash in the late 80's. Or Black Sabbath in '72. Or...(you get the idea).

The Zac Brown Band in Aspen... That's a Greeaaaaaaaaat call there Junior! They did some awesome stuff... The Devil Went Down to Georgia cover was badass. I saw The Doobie Brothers and Peter Frampton a few years ago too, that was funny. Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw at Mile High Stadium was insane... More hot women than I'll ever see again.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and most of their collaborators on the "Will the Circle be Unbroken II" album, at Red Rocks outside Denver in May, 1989. Incredible group of musicians!

Doobie Brothers, Rapid City, SD 1978? The show with two giant blue electronic arcs behind each drummer? I was 12 and can still remember chills running through me, when that arc tied into the sword being waved around. Chris Ledoux at the Buffalo Wyoming Fair around 1995

The Last Waltz in 1976 at Winterland, Bruce Springsteen in 1978 at the San Jose Center of Performing Arts and Paul Simon Graceland Tour in 1986 at the Berkeley Community Theater. Saw many other great ones but these would rank top three.

Funny I recall what I was doing and where I was the first time I heard Grace Slick, the Doors, and Ode to Billy Joe. Strange all four people I knew from those three times are all gone now.
Girl I went to two of the three of the concerts earlier is gone too.

All were pretty good.
But Don Williams and Lorrie Morgan was the best.
On a side note, as a much younger than other participants, and probably one of the only guys to show up, I escorted a couple of ladies to a Tom Jones concert in Lansing.
The concert was good, but the after concert parties in town proved interesting....
