So how are the Icon rifles working out? I don't know anyone personally that has one. I did see a dandy in at the feed mill last evening. Sure was a looker. Got me to thinking . I never tried one of them. At $750.00 it hangs with a lot of the other cookie cutter rifles on the rack. Anyone here have an opinion?

Ive got one in a .243...love it. Grossly underrated rifles IMHO. Never did a thing to it, out of the box trigger/accuracy etc is excellent. A bit pricey and a bit heavy but a nice working rifle....

Are the barrels floated from the factory?

I own two weathershields, have never regretted the purchases, would probably be the last rifles I part with. Can I post 3 shot clover leaf pics? Sorry I don't think I have those types of skills or the proper set-up. I'm happy with the MOA frequency I produce and the consistency of these rifles. TC set out to incorporate as many factory accurizing elements as the target market price could bare, and I think they did an excellent job. I probably averaged spending $650 per rifle 3-4 years ago when it was not uncommon to see an Icon WS offered on the net for more than $900. These rifles have quality triggers, integral scope mounts, and bedding block systems that float the barrels. I see these same features on guns that will cost between $1200-$1600 out the door. Knock on wood, I've never had a problem and have recommended these Icons many times.

As Ingwe pointed out they are grossly underestimated. I have one in 308 and it shoots crazy good with Remington 150 grain factory ammo. I should be reloading it this spring.

TC uses the 5R rifling on all their bolt actions. That kinda set them apart one way or the other depending on how one feels about that. It's not that common, Remington offers it on a tactical 700 I think. I do not know if that's more expensive to produce or whether one can consider it added value in the overall $750 catagory of rifles. I see where some folks have issues with the rifle's aesthetic.

There aint much aesthetics wise, but frankly I like the ergos of the gun, and in a Weathershield I like the fact I can throw it on the dead sled with a fresh deer and drag it out....hose it off need be when I get home...did exactly that with this little dude, who was wayyyyy too far from the truck to shoot, but he was mighty tasty!

I have one I picked up from a buddy in 300 win mag then tried to sell it here on the campfire but no takers. Boy am I glad it didn't sell as I have recently taken to the range with factory ammo and easily shot moa. Can't wait to start loading for it. Yes it is on the heavy side but I'll live with that for that kind of accuracy.

I have a pair of them in the weather shield variation. One is a 243 and the other is a 30TC. I got a good deal on the 30TC through a good buddy. He had a friend wanting to get rid of it and offered it to me. I like the way they feel in my hands and have been very impressed with their quality.

Nope, they are offered in long action chamberings as well. I have a Weathershield Icon in .300WM. It is a VERY good rifle. Easily sub-moa groups, excellent trigger; I have no complaints at all and highly recommend them.

T/C no longer shows the Icon in the 2013 catalog. I guess that says something.

The still make the 722, it's called the Model 700 and it is the best selling and most accurate out of the box rifle in the world. It's looking like S&W is about to shut T/C down as they just bought them to get the equipment. I hate that as I have an Encore and a Contender. They no longer offer the same warranty they once had. The warranty only applies to the original owner now. They haven't made any Encore barrels or Contenders since the move. The Hawken is no longer in production. Sad day for a once great company. Used Icons are cheap because nobody wants one so that is one source.
