I'd go with a real case if you want that kinda speed.
Travis Well, therein lies the great appeal of the .22-250 AI...if I can get the speed out of it. And the accuracy and bullets hold up at high velocity and RPM. May start a new thread asking about the hi speed limits of 75 Amax, etc. I found some old posts about the Amax and others coming apart above 3300 but they were several years old and probably no longer relevant...but perhaps I should ask. Anyway, I've been PM-ing guys with fast .22's like Gruff and Elky to get more info... Ummm... The standard SAAMI 2'fitty gets 3300fps. What more do you need? Travis

Ran and chrony'd the 220 Rocket with the 75 A-Max from a 24" tube...
It'll hit 3,500 with RL-17, but with Norma cases, that's about all it wants in SA platform. Thanks for the info, Hawk. Good to know.

Yeah, I figure with the .223 taking the bulk of the workload, if I'm careful on barrel heat (which I always am), the shorter barrel life won't really be a factor. Plus the fact I'm looking to launch only the heavies through it might help...

Mojo,that's why my .22-6mm is for COYOTES,I have a .22-250,.243 Win for rabbits and just fun shooting.
Was thinking of re-barreling my .243 to .22-243,but it will be a little slower than my .22-6mm and for some reason it does not make sense.
