Well my little 10 week old great neice had her heart surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. They patched a nickel sized hole in her heart and closed up a smaller one. By all accounts she is doing great so far.
The wife and I drove 3 1/2 hours up to Warroad, Mn this morning to get her brother and sister to stay with us until they can release thier little sister in 10 days or so. I stopped at ND's ACE hardware store and actually found some .22lr ammo. I bought a brick and some 50 round boxes. They were only allowing one brick per customer and they only had 3 left. They said they did not know when they would get more. This is getting ridiculous.
On the way back I stopped in to a gun shop and told them I was looking for a Ruger SR1911. The guy laughed and said "good luck." He said they have had a few but the longest they last on the shelf is 15 minutes.

Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes! It wasn't a great day but the night made up for it. Dave and the kids made me supper, my favorite...shrimp. They were amazing!!! And now we can get back to talk of hunting, fishing, camping, oh yeah and that transmission. Ma not happy about that one...still stings worse than a bee sting and that's only happened to me once. That's great news Jim! glad to hear she is doing good.
can you get on a call list for the ruger? I've heard of guys getting them that way.
also wouldn't hurt to check gunbroker, I see they have a bunch of them there, and not too high priced considering how hard they are to find and what a normal 1911 goes for. I just checked and they have a bunch on there. trust me when I tell you they are AWESOME. worth every penny. they are the only factory firearm I have never wanted to alter, it was perfect out of the box

I'm on a call list at Scheels. I will have to check Gunbroker. My cousin just told me he has one coming from there.

Snowed for about 15 minutes, but they were the biggest snow flakes I've ever seen. Some of then were over 2" inches. Looked like sheets of TP coming down.
