Here we have a Savage 99 EG in the very rare 308 chambering....rifle is factory drilled and tapped and sports a Bushnell command post 3x9x40 scope. Picked this up from Ras and because of the pad the length of pull is too long for me. Other than swivels and the pad the rifle is all original, and it has a beautiful piece of wood! Metal is in very nice shape and with only one small spot on top of barrel, and wood is pretty darn clean for a 50+ year old rifle. Scope is clear, however only sports the post, the cross hairs are no longer in it, a $60 fix if someone wanted it perfect. A very nice piece at half the price of an all original 99eg in 308, $850 shipped to your ffl as she sits. Will consider trades for original 99s with NO ADDED PADS. lenny

If that's a 1" pad at the end of a 14" LOP, we could probably reshape the butt end, add a steel plate and end up around 13" LOP (factory is 13-1/8" to 13-3/8").

I'd be happy to do that for a fellow 99er, if you can track down a butt plate and screws. You'll still have the sling studs but it will be a sweet hunter. I have a similar vintage EG to check the vertical cant is correct.
