I live off of the grid and rely on propane for my appliances.

My Crystal Cold propane fridge just crapped out yesterday.

Spent today trouble shooting. Not working.

Going to flip it over tomorrow to burp it see if that works.

If you find any yellowish to white residue around the tubing----its all over. That is the inside liquid refridgerent that leaked out.

My experience is the first time they crap out they become a money pit. Fixes go a couple months and they quit again. That being, one can't trust them with anything of value in the freezer section.

Does it use ammonia like the ones in RV's?

Take it outside and roll it over a couple times. Then put it back in service.

The forest circus used to store there rv refers upside down for the winter.Another fix is taking it down a real wash boardy road and shake it up good.Sometimes a simple tapping of the tubes works. At worst, all you should have to replace is the gas unit in the rear.I've had to do that myself.Sure is cheaper than the whole enchilada.

Of course everyone knows that any gas refer has to be absolutely level. Some make the mistake of leveling there rv instead of leveling the refer and they pay for it sooner or later.

When I used to deliver appliances for my dads shop, I always cringed when we would have to move a gas refer. They weigh a ton.

Thanks for suggestions
Tipping over upside down today see if that works.

Yes very heavy..

Living off the grid on solar and wind power sure is expensive. Stuff is always beaking and in need of repair. Every time the dipschit Greenies like Obama say that alternative energy is so wonderful I just laugh.

If your exhaust tube is sooted up , try a full cleaning of the whole burner assembly . I get to do that this spring when I get back to camp.
Make sure the switch that calls for increased flame ( to cool the fridge ) is working .
On our danby at camp , the only other things were the whole control box replacement ( didn't change anything so it was returned ) and replacement of the cooling tube unit that is a closed system. That worked for us.
Hope you don't need to go that expensive , but it is still cheaper than a new fridge.

Our propane fridge in our camp quit working 2 years ago. Turned out to be a clog of dirt between the fridge regulator and the burner. You could try taking apart the whole gas line assembly and making sure it's clean. Took me about an hour to figure out.
