Vince is in the mandatory evac area, which is just west of here. He is probably busy getting out with his animals. I don't think where he lives is in immediate danger

8000 acres and 60+ homes destroyed. (not counting out buildings, admitting a very low count.) Fire is 0% contained at this time.
Prayer sent!
Clinging to my God, and my guns!

The evac area includes us now, but the fire is dying down since the wind stopped. We are all ready to go but are not leaving yet. The fire is 3 miles away but headed away from our house

My brother and sister in law are now pre-evac. I guess we'll likely be returning the favor they did for us when we were evacuated for the Waldo Canyon fire.

No fire or smoke in our area. Hope the wind blows the fire away from us

Spoke to my folks a few minutes ago. They are in the pre-evac area and they are both in their 80's. Their place is on the S. edge of Black Forest.
They said they aren't being forced to leave yet but that the smoke is so thick that they are leaving anyway - having trouble breathing. They said they can't see to the road at the end of their driveway.

Vince is a prepared fellow, and is evac'd, with better half and animals all ok with him, another friend of his and ours has a home closer to the fire start point... I am very concerned that they have truly both lost their homes at this point... this is such a devastating fire and from Arkansas we are helpless other than prayers upon prayers for those and others.... and for the folks on the ground and in the air trying to fight this...

I got back into our home this morning with an escort for about 10 minutes for some medicine I needed. My home right now survived. My close hunting buddies, didn't.
389 homes destroyed, 2 deaths.
I am staying with an ex-neighbor about 20 miles east.
Black Forest is about 40% burned it appears.
Thank God I left a lot in the stock trailer from the get together last week end. I loaded about 1/2 my firearms, and a bunch of stuff from the house, but still there were many things I forgot or didn't have time for.
The power was out for about three days.Don't know if all the meat inte freezer is OK.The power was back on this AM when we got in.
I'm afraid Suburban Hunter's home was destroyed as it was rigt in the path of the fire

I'm still locked out. Now they are talking about maybe Monday, but everyone has to go somewhere( not defined ) yet, to get a pass( not defined yet) to get back in.
Think of 30,000+ residents waiting in line to get a pass to return home.

I understand what you are going through. we lost our home last year in the high park fire. We had about 4 hours to get things out and we had flames licking at the side of our vehicle on the way out. It was about three weeks before we could get back in and we didn't know for sure if our house had burned for about 4 days. Not something I would want to go through again. My heart is out to all those dealing with this.
We are rebuilding in pretty much the same spot even though it looks like a nuke hit there.
Best wishes.
