Windchill in the lower teens, this after being 70* last week. Good ole Idaho in the spring. Here's sumpin' for warming up...

You aren't going to let her use the Swamp Hunter ammo? Or you are just hogging it yourself?

I've ran tons of crap ammo through it without a hitch. Accuracy is surprising too. It's light and the trigger isn't. Once I figured out it took a little more pressure from the heel of my left palm, groups came together nicely.
I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!

I noticed some years ago that with a proper choke I can get my groups out of the way with one load of buckshot and not bother with sensitivity training. I'm not being disrespectful of revolvers mind you. I was sensitive once in the distant past. I even carried a 1911 for a year or so.

Do you have to be sensitive to carry a 1911? If so I was sensitive from about April 1975 to April 1976.. That explains alot. The rest of the time I carried a 6" Model 19 Smith...don't know what that says about me...Freudian perhaps???

No. The 1911 is the only auto to trust, at least in the form of GI issue. They also serve well to slap people up side the head with.
My period of sensitivity was rather brief, running from somewhere around late September 1960-mid October 1960. Got my hands on a Mod 12 Winchester that fall. As I recall it was longer than me.
I found the Ruger revolvers not in need of much sensitivity. More required by their autos. 5x2" fifty yard groups were neither common or rare from an old 3 screw RSB in my past. A GP100 was close to that, but the front sight was about 4" further from the target so it fared not quite as well.
S&W autos were spiteful bitches back in my youth...the Model 59 comes to mind.

I played with a Model 59 as well...though never trusted it enough to carry. Qualified expert in old style conventional pistol with my 6" Model 19 and pretty well stuck with it....still got one on top of the fridge...it still feels just as good in the dark as it ever did,add a German Shepherd walking point and Im as close as I'll ever get to being young again!
