I've become a firearm minimalist over the last few years so I've got nothing really to put up for the cause.

But I came into a bunch of "action figures" via my late Uncle's grandson who died last year.

Been ebaying these things like crazy and turning the proceeds back to my Uncle, but he passed last month. So my dad, the executor, said to just sell them and keep the funds.

I was unaware the prices some where fetching, and the last one I sold got $61 and change.

So, this one goes for the benefit of the little girl.

You have before you a 12" replica of General Robert E. Lee, Commanding General of the Army of Northern Virginia, in full military splendor; coat, hat, sash, sword & pistol.

The buyer has the option of getting him as is, or my daughter will dress him up (you choose bare hands or leather gauntlets) and he will be shipped to you.

Put him in your man cave, dash of your truck, or whatever.

There's no shame in displaying your doll, provided its for a good cause.

besides - it's Robert E. Lee.

Start the bidding at $20. Shipping is on me.

Thank you!! I'm sure Rick will allow auctions here for a good cause. I think you've started a good thing and good luck with it.

You're morning trivia:

Fresh out of West Point, Lt. Robert E. Lee was involved in the initial construction at Fort Pulaski - built to protect the port at Savannah Georgia.

I'll go fifty.

We should limit this to auction to IP addresses below the Mason Dixon line. We all know them Yankees will desecrate this fine heirloom.

An 1845 picture of the General, with his son.

Note, like most fine southern gentlemen, when not out doing military things, he carried in a shoulder holster showing how easy it was to get to his gat, even in casual attire.

Does Robert E. Lee have any heirs? I wonder what happened to the boy.

Bump for a good cause!

Lee had 7 kids.

2 had children from 2nd marriages.

Given the number of Lee's back then, like Henry "Light-horse" Lee III (Robert's father), Richard Henry Lee (a signer of the Declaration of Independence), Francis Lightfoot Lee (also a signer), and quite possibly Lee24, there's no telling where direct descendents are.

On a side note, anybody pondering visual similarities between Robert E. Lee and Chuck Norris wake up dead the next morning, and wake up with amnesia the morning after.

Robert E. Lee's horses during the Civil War were named:

Traveler, Richmond, Lucy Long, Brown-Roan, and Ajax.

Traveler was the big white one seen in many photos.

The latter was rarely ridden as a precaution because there are always some situations where Ajax can't take off.

With about 7 hours to go, crowrifle has the bid at $50.

I know how this goes, since him and I are close by - he'll say, "skip the shipping and let's do lunch - you buy."

Well the last time that happened, he ended up eating WAY MORE than a medium flat rate box, including part of some ladies "anxiety service dog" - although I think that was more of a matter of principle rather than hunger.

Of course, it technically was part of the meal, so I had to pony up for that as well. Freakin AKC weiner dogs.

So I'm leaving the office and off to do family things; I won't be able to monitor and bump - trusting you guys to keep up the levity in hopes that someone finds a home for Bob.

Thanks to all.

jc
