We checked the other day, I still got him by 1.5 or 2 inches. Of course that was like 2 weeks ago so, he's probably got me by an inch or so the way he been growing.

My thought when I saw that picture was that Nate is taller than Dave.Won't be long. You're correct Dave. The bird must go. I got the scope mounted on the 12Ga/.308 and went to the gun club and sighted it in.It shoots great.I have 5.5 inches of eye relief on the scope so I won't get "eyeballed" with the scope when shooting the 12 gauge barrel.

Dave,
Car looking good !!
Trying to stay positive about the protracted weather & the weekends snow dump.
I decided the 8" of fresh white stuff was a good thing.
Covered up all the "barkers eggs", in the yard !

I like the optimistic spin that tjk put on it, tying it into the maple syrup thing was pure genius! Mid 50's in NE Wis today; warmest since December according to GB weather. I'm as cabin fevered out as anyone, but with all the snow we did have this winter, the slow melt is a blessing. Also, I usually buy a case of quarts of maple syrup yearly. Last year was so warm the season here (50 miles north of Green Bay) was only about 7-10 days long, instead of the usual 3-6 weeks. Seems like the slow spring should do wonders for that season. Anything to keep my simple brain from getting too uptight about too long winters. I should probably move 500 miles south when I retire.

Back in January at a firearm dealer show I ordered a Chiappa "Little Badger".It's a rather neat looking minimalist .22 single shot break open.I got it in today.Neat neat little gun.Looking forward to shooting it.

Last week we got just about an even 5" of rain here in Mid Michigan.....We had about 190 acres of beets freshly planted when it started so the jury will be out for a while on those. Recieved another .8 last nite...and now it's supposed to rain for 5 out of the next 7 days. Late plantings for us here. Very ready for the sun to shine....lol. Grand Bird you have there Dave...very nice project!
We eat organic in our house, we just have to shoot and gut it first.....

Stan in SC let me know how you like it, is it light? I would be very interested to hear your take on it once you get it out in the field. I might like to get one, what do they go for?

The sun was out yesterday while I was at work and it was great. So great i fired up the weber and cooked some veni-burgers. They were great.
Back to crap weather for a few days. I don't have a boat right now, so I can live with it.

Good luck finding .22 ammo if you don't have a supply Stan. None to be found in this area. Last I heard is that a brick of .22's was going for over $50 if you can find any and that was the lower quality stuff.

I hate to say it Bill, but I'd consider paying $50 for a brick. BTW...I'm headed your way in a few weeks to try and deflate a few turkeys. Did you pick up a tag? I didn't get drawn, but went on-line and saw there was 21K tags still available? I'm not sure how that all works? but I picked up some for the week of 5/1-5/7 I'll be down with my BIL and maybe my shadow.

You can troll Gunbroker for .22 ammo. I sold some there a while ago that I could not use. I got $37/brick but with postage it cost the guy $53.50.
Gunshow prices seem to start at about $70 and go up to as much as $200, though no one seems to be buying it. Where the currently manufactured stuff is going, nobody really knows.
