Nothing wrong with using a VZ 24 action. The new Musgrave rifles are built on these. Extremely accurate rifles btw. Friend of mine owns one of their rifles in 375H&H that shoots 1" groups at 200m.(it is one of their previous custom rifles, but built by the same guys) Here is a link to Musgrave: http://www.musgraverifles.co.za/field-delux.htmlPieter

If the actions are soft could they be rehardened?

Built my 6.5-06AI on an Interarms Zastava action. Very happy with it. Granted, it is something of a low $$$ custom, but very accurate.

Thanks. Boyd stock, Krieger barrel, Timney trigger. Burris 4.5-14x AO with Ballistic Plex reticle. Built it to shoot out to 1000-1200 yards but haven't tried it past 600 yet.

1909 Argentine Mauser Actions are just about perfect.
One option for a excellent Mauser Action hunting rifle is ordering from CZ-USA Custom Shop
