Does anyone have the lead on 105 Hybrids that they would be willing to share? Looking to try them in my 6mm Stuver (6mm-6.5x55 Ackley).

I am pretty sure sport optics has just about every berger bullet made sitting on their shelf or did last week when I was down there.

Tanner,

Accuracy for our three rifles just wasn't there. I just looked at some of my pics of groups when I shot the 115 DTACs. Some of the 115 DTAC loads seemed pretty good at 100 yds but they opened way up past 2" at 200 yds.

The one thing we all had in common was the 5R barrels. Perhaps that is a factor? Who knows what the issue might have been. We did share from the same large box of bullets. Perhaps we got a bad lot?

Main thing the 5R barrel does shoot as a 6mm/284. The 107 sierras shot well with Retumbo, RL-22. The 105 Berger shot well with same two powders. Now using RL-33 with 105 Berger.

Very cool you've found the HPBT to shoot near .520! I gotta' try some of those.

The A-Max actually matches closer to a .525 BC for me, but I'm using stepped G7 BC's that accurately replicate my drop data out to a mile when factoring in LOS angles and Coriolis, etc.

The HPBT matches close to a .530 G1 in my rifle.

Well hot dang, aren't you fancy! grin....

I'll have to pick up some HPBT's to try. I've still got a nice stash of A-Maxes, but the HP just piques my interest a little bit....

Yeah, it's an interesting bullet, but the AM just shoots better in my rifle. I may revisit the HPBT one day and see if I can squeeze the same accuracy out of it that I'm getting with the AM.

Very interesting! Thanks for the info. Is this the same sport optics that has all the Nightforce scopes and Euro glass?
I have a line on some for testing. If they work out, I'll give these folks a call.

On a side note, I am looking for at least 200 of the 105 Hybrids with the same lot number.
Need them for a LR comp.
Thanks
I could even trade for bullets if wanted.

When I switched to the 105's, the coyotes and critters are DRT.

I run the Amax here at a G1 of .492 BC, seems dead on.

The DTAC was a .535 here and the HPBT was .520 BC

Have not shot the Hybrid yet.

"penciling through" ? lets just say we have had different experiences with the DTac. But, I have not killed anything further than 600 yards with them, it is very possible that I am missing something. I have been running them for a few years now, never disappointed. I bought several thousand when I bought the bullets I am using now (maybe 4 or 5), maybe they have changed, but the vintage I have has been rocking deer and antelope for a while.

The consensus over at SH.com is that the 105 Hybrid actually has a better BC than the 115 DT and is likely going to be a little easier to tune due to that hybrid ogive. I guess that pretty much means the Hybrid is the one I ought to be trying.

Pat and Jordan, I know both of you guys have shot the 105 Horn HPBT quite a bit. Have you found it to run true to the published .530 BC? And, how much different is it's ogive than the 105 A-Max?

Thanks all.

.530 is really close....almost identical to the 105 scenar. I use the same dope for both bullets. I don't know the Amax.

Luck....is the residue of design...
