Initially published in 1904 and republished in 1971 by the University of Nebraska Press. It has a good introduction that's worth reading.
This covers battles involving the plains Indians from the 1860s until the end. It's not dry. These are personal, recollections of the fighting from people who were still alive, had been involved in these fights and spoke and corresponded with Brady. It also includes tactics, battlefield maps and diagrams drawn by some of them. Brady also got more than one viewpoint from various battles, from soldiers, civilians and Indians.
