So, can anyone help illuminate the dark and murky area / black art of stretching a cartridge case ( a bunch actually)?

Ring die forced over case, into base area...........?

Internal arbor forced into area inpinged by 'Ring Die"...?

Case than pulled over arbor, via shellholder, or by down force on arbor.......?????

I don't begrudge the folks that make the great commercially avail. stretched brass..............The stuff from Buff Arms seems to be top quality..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I've got the hydraulic horsepower, and an interest in trying this.....more as to learn more about the behaviour of brass, as much as anything.

The folks I know that tried doing this had a pretty catastrophic reject / failure rate.
