Hope yours shoot better than mine that I did a day or two before I did yours.

A whopping 2MOA first 800 yard group.

Then a terrible 1 MOA group.

ooops I had the pics reversed.

Then I remembered to tighten the action screws. I was amazed how much it moved the POI, and how it tightened stuff up.

I figgered someone else was running the camera.

I was going to say most complain about having two left feet, but one starts showing off two left hands.... grin

BTW, nice job...

Dang Eddy, that thing is shooting great. I'll be pleased if mine hangs anywhere close to that....

If your bedding and barrel are good just about any gun will shoot 1/4 MOA. Of course I am cheating sitting in the air conditioning shooting off a concrete bench.
I was trying out some of that 308 palma brass necked down to 243. I had to turn the brass a little .003 a side to get it to match the thickness of lapua 243 brass, but I think it is going to be okay. Lit em up with some CCI 450s and was able to fireform with my normal load. I only made 20 pieces of brass, got them all fireformed, now to see how much pressure I can push before I see some pressure signs. I was already 1/2 grain above my hot load for my 243AI on the last two cases I firefomed...this might be sweet.

That's a really good idea. I wonder how the small primer stuff would do at colder temps?

I have had that question myself. I live in South MS, we don't get many cold days smile

I talked to Bruce Baer a while back, and that's the precise reason he's staying away from the 6.5-47 brass for any cold weather builds.

I made some 6x47 brass from 308 Lapua with the large primers and flash holes, but haven't tested enough to come to a conclusion yet.....

I respect Bruce, but I doubt there will be an issue especially using magnum primers. In any case I just do not have to worry about it too much down here.

Are magnum small rifle primers really any hotter? I was under the impression they had more to do with cup thickness than amount of spark.

I dunno, but did assume, they were hotter. I do not know if chrono results would shed any light on it, but I could try it. Maybe weighing unfired vs fired magnum and non magnum would tell us something.
There might be some palma guys out there who have shot this brass in cold weather that could shed some light on it. My experience with a small rifle primer and case that holds more than 42 grs of powder is limited to touching the trigger 23 times. I have popped many many 450s in 6BR and 6.5 and 6mm and 22x47 Lapuas but never a caase that will hold about 50 grs.
