Launching these very accurately from my 7mm rem mag.

Anyone do any bullet testing with these and or on game performance?

I'm normally not a sst fan but did buy a bunch of blems for forming 280AI cases. A friend of mine was very interested to learn how to handload and we used the 162sst for his 7 rem. never checked speed but seems the load was 75'ish grains of 7828. Accuracy was good and he killed 6 or 7 deer with them. All bullets went out and performed as well as you'd expect a cup and core to do.

I still don't care for the 6mm offerings as they seemed a little to explosive but the 162 have done a fine job so far. At this point he(my friend) doesn't see any reason to stop loading them.

All I got hope that helped in some way.

Some experience with 6.5mm 140 gr. SST's. At 3,000 fps, they didn't seem too explosive, in fact, shot thru most everything, including a 300 pound boar hog, hit right behind the ear.

To me, at least in 6.5, they seem to be pretty tough bullets. I'm now running 140 VLD's in my 6.5-284, hoping for more internal damage and quicker kills.

I have 160 SST's to try in my 7RM, just haven't busted anything yet.

The only SST I've seen used on elk was a 165 from a .300 WSM at around 400 yards, where it had obviously slowed down considerably. The hit was perfect, right behind the shoulder, and the average 5-point bull went down pretty quickly. The bullet was under the hide on the far side, looking like an advertisement mushroom.

Go figure huh?

I used the 165 SST in a 30.06 when they first came out, shot one whitetail doe at 30 yards with one and it came all apart but had a dead deer. Tried it again on another doe it was never recovered. I stopped using SST's after this.

Sst performance seems to be all over the board. I loaded a friend a bunch of 140s for a 270 win. They blew monster holes in the 6 deer his family took with that ammo and it was loaded pretty mild.
Yet others seem to say they've held together fine.
The regular interlock is a GREAT bullet but apparently when you replace the lead tip with a quick opening plastic one the performance can change.
That 162 from the nosler link looks great for a 5 jug water hit at about 2900 fps.

Two acquaintances went to Africa for 6 plains game each with Weatherby 7 sTW's loaded with 162g SST at 3150 fps. All 12 of their game dropped in their tracks, never took a step including two eland. The Ph was so impressed, he wrote an article on their shots and instant kills.

I shoot a 7 Mag and with a Max load of Retumbo, fed 215, and Rem case, I get very small groups at 3100+. In this particular rem 700, this bullet likes to kiss the lands.

69-71 grains of h-1000 is money with these bullets. 64-65 grains of re 22 usually shoots good also.

I have tried the Hornady 162 gr SST in 2 of my 7mm-08 rifles. The Savage 110 with 22" light bbl gives 1 1/2 " groups and that is not as good as the 139 gr Hornady sp 139 gr.
However in my heavier barreled Savage 110 it is deadly on deer and accuracy is under 1/4". I load to modest velocity with this bullet for better accuracy. It took a buck last yeat at 175 yds and exit hole was about 1 1/2". Lung area was really messed up.
The bucks in Tennessee will usually run 125 to 175 lbs. None of these bullets used on deer have remained inside the animal.

I've shot several Ms Delta buck in the 200-275lb range and get partial exits (pieces). But it looks like a bomb went off on the inside.
