Might wanna try it cold first, rubbing with a Q-Tip. Seems to be an individual thing, I do better without heat. 0000 steel wool will blend everything. Caustic blue stands up to steel wool very much better than cold blue.

Most touch up blues will remove hot blueing as you try to fix and it just gets worse and worse. Oxpho blue will not harm hot blue. Used right it does work. Same as the aluminum black, it does not work. Neither does brass black.
