I can remember when the old Lewiston grade had zero houses on it, and was the only route into the hole.

When they first opened the new hill and the houses weren't on the old yet, the rockchuck shooting was outstanding. You must be old, like me, to remember no new grade.

Ummm, yes, though I hate to admit it...and the Hilltop Cafe and Gift Shop...the rose garden below the "L".
Potlatch native, the family is still there.
Looks like you drove up the 95 side?

Pointer, you do that and you may never come home. Even when brown it's spellbinding. Wyoming sucks. BD PS: It was a capital "Thor" but now its just thor. Rock on dudes! I know! I lived 'out West' for 9 years (only been back in IN for 3) and miss it daily. Though slightly different country, but my former job had me in the hills like Sam's on a very regular basis.

Damn Sam, looks good around there now. My grandfather homesteaded just north of Saco on Frenchman Creek in 1887. My dad was born on the homestead in 1905. Dad and I went looking for the old homestead and all that could be found was remnants of the well house. W. Bill

Nice country, even with the smoke and chitt. Always wondered what an Idaho seaport looked like.
I am..........disturbed.

It's been rainy here (had a bunch in a short period of time yesterday) and most of that was clouds, high fog and steam. The mill can be odiferous, but most days it is just fine... Unless you live to the east....

WS,
How was the steelhead run this year? A couple of years, you could walk from the bridge upriver past the mill on the boats...

Good steelhead run last winter. I enjoyed it. I usually go up the Clearwater a bit to get away from SOME of the ski boats. July 1 C&R opens for steelhead. Not many here yet, but it's more fun to hook Chinook anyway and that's what is out there right now. It can be spectacular catching.....in a t shirt....maybe stogie......and beer. Night fishing for steelhead in the winter is fun in slack water with lighted lures. It can be a rodeo if someone doesn't have legal boat lights......kinda hard to see things with no sun.

Thought I'd add... if you just want to catch fish, the Snake is more reliable. If you want a chance at BIG fish the Clearwater is fickle, but has lots of bigger ones.

That only means she feel inadequate and will try harder. Might be a 190% kind of gal?
