THIS!

Chui, yes definitively a Scotch drinker, mostly Single Malts (neat) but I do drink the occasional blended Scotch with soda water with and w/o ice "Highball". And far as ketchup, only on fries, meatloaf and burgers and NEVER, EVER on a hot dog!

Frogman: Yes I did try Buffalo Trace and found it better than Knob Creek. I really would like to acquire a taste for "Whiskey" so I'll continue to experiment. In the meantime, nothing comes close to a Talisker 18 or a Lagavulin!

Ketchup on a hot dog should be outgrown by age five or so.

That Coors Light is considered normal points to a sad state of affairs. It is a sorely lacking product to anyone who actually likes real beer. And no, by real I don't necessarily mean dark or heavy beer either.

Some real beers that are not dark or heavy:

Hey, we eat what's made on that table! (Just realized that that could head in two different directions.)

Adding "do you know where that rolling pin has been?" would really add a twist...

Wild Turkey whiskeys generally have high rye mash bills, so they're a little spicy for some palates.

My palate is fine - the problem for me with Wild Turkey is the guaranteed 45 minutes I'll spend on the chitter approximately 1 hour after drinking it. Literally - Wild Turkey and Southern Comfort do that to me for some reason.

Southern Comfort isn't bourbon, it's some form of sweetened mess. The Wild Turkey you tried wasn't that honey liquor crap was it?

Well, correlation and causation can be different. Turkey doesn't have anything in it that other bourbon doesn't.

I don't drink bourbon either. All I know is whenever I drink Turkey or SoCo I am literally like this within the next hour or so.

I've stopped drinking Turkey and SoCo.

I never have that issue with vodka/gin/schnapps or any other spirit nor have I had the issue with Scotch or Pendleton or JD single barrel. I thought maybe it was in my head but one night of drinking for free with a hot bartender and BAM it hit me - I asked her what was in the drinks she's been giving me and as soon as she said SoCo - it clicked. Sort of wondering if it's the rye? I don't use rye in any of my homebrew so it's basically the only place I'm exposed to it.

You're saying you have to plant in now and then to make it sprout?
