I said "almost" half a minute (grins) 5/8th's of an inch, perhaps, NO wind.

Bottom of an old 3/8 steel grainery; big ole 12 ft diameter "gong".

It has lots of CF holes in it; I about crapped when 5 of those Federals silvered up about a 308 sized hole.
So I did it again....

The Centurion/Aguila stuff appears to be a bit undersized, as it fouls a touch and is High Velocity. Haven't miked either, but I've slung a few rimfires enough to guesstrapolate.

Glad I have folks looking out for me. Been wanting to get a 541T, just never wanted to pay for one.

Got it NIB with a 4-12 Elite 3000 atop for $450....

Friend has one of those CMP Kimbers that might be in a pissing match.

Like I said, Dat's fair shooting....

Would have ignored it like last night's hooker if you'd said CF. Gotta be in the 2's for CF before I get wood.

I am close to impressed, truly. Have a light crosswind didja?

laugh

PS: I wouldn't sell that gun FWIW, and you can probably do better with a different powder. Varget is good stuff but I never but find a powder that runs better no matter what the cartridge. Mebbe that's why I got so damn many different powders in stock?

That particular one is a great example of a Cutt-Bow. Rainbow cutt-throat hybrid. They are VERY common on the North Fork of the Flathead. Back in the 80's, when I was a kid, when the hatches really got rolling, you'd catch 150 dink native cutts in a day.

Rainbows got more prolific farther up the river over the years, and they spawn very close to when cutts do. Now, the DNA is pretty much all hybrid. Also, FWP did a lot to help restore bull trout to the fisheries around here, which ARE a native fish, and very good at eating littler fish. Between the predation (likely also leaving more food for the survivors) and the hybridization of the Cutts, with smarter DNA, when hatches really blow up, like last weekend, a 60 fish day is a good day and if you know the spots you can sluice one good 20"er in a day. Believe me, they put a [bleep]' whoopin on a 4 weight.

Thanks for the info. I'd heard about them but don't recall seeing a picture until now.

Yep, at least me and Elgin Gates. Look at it this way, I don't have to carry tubes of JB Weld or my Attorney on Speed Dial with a Weatherby....

Well, there is that. I don't like JB Weld a whole lot.

Attorney's should not be on speed dial. They should be on the flanks when quail hunting however, especially when there's a lot of politicians in the herd.
