Looks like a fairly honorable goring to me, and the chicks will dig the scars. There's been two or three cases of guys getting it straight up the butt I never thought of that point! The guy below isn't going to pick up many chicks by showing them the scar that resulted from the goring below. On the other hand, if he is gay, it might be just the right ice breaker: "Wanna see my bullfighting scar?" John The caption under that pic got a laugh out of me.

I seem to recall the story when that happened - that doctors described the injuries as "horrendous"

I thought that they blunted the bulls' horns in that particular contest, but it seems not. A the photo below shows, at least the bozo on question seems to be getting a nice close up on his camera phone! John I have known this guy's family for over 25 years. He was a HS valedictorian, football player, from a strong Christian family. Quite a quiet and respectful man; probably the last person I would think likely to get this particular 15 minutes of fame. We have offered airline miles to the family so that one of the parents can go bring him home. I will have to ask Patrick how he kept his phone. I watched the video of the incident and the bull merely flicked his head at Patrick as he ran by--almost so fast you don't see it happen. I don't think he even had time to think about dropping it.

My Dad was stationed at Zaragoza and had a Hemingway phase, but as a Nebraska farm kid, never was crazy or stupid enough. I "manage" some Corriente roping stock these days, they are good cows but I ALWAYS pay attention. Hookem Horns is for Texas football, not for me. There is one yearling bull in the herd right now, he is going to be a fine bull. You should see his horns already and what he does to pillowcases and old T-shirts.

I did some day player work on a project that involved a number of fighting bulls.. they kept them in a tarped off pen when not working. Just the sight of a person pissed them the [bleep] off.
Scary critters, but I still root for them. Especially when they're [bleep] up drunk australians .
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...
