I'm not a .270 guy, but isn't .270 brass longer than 30-06?

Will the fireform somehow eliminate this, or will they need trimming?

One word of caution when loading jacketed bullets with light charges of pistol/shotgun powder is don't try to go too low. 6gr of Red Dot stuck a 150gr jacketed bullet halfway down the tube of a .30/40 Krag for me. My 16 year old sensibilities had me trying to drive it out with a jointed cleaning rod, which only served to wedge it in tighter (and destroyed the rod). It took a very skilled gunsmith to neatly drill the lead core out of it, leaving the jacket to be pushed out with a rod. Thankfully no damage to the rifling, but some damage to my ego after the old guy chewed me out for being a dumbass!

That 6gr charge of Red Dot had previously propelled hundreds of 150gr plain base lead bullets flawlessly. The first jacketed one I tried got stuck.

Yep. Fireforming won't eliminate and only trimming needed will be to even up the necks. Regards, Woody

Take a kid along.
