Need One... please come back! You may be ornery, but you are what you are... and I respect that. We need more of that kind of honesty and integrity around here.

Besides, I want to hear about being snowed in up in the mountains, too!

B'sW and Old Toot, thank you for your posts. Sunday after church I had to make the trip to Quitman and pick up my boat and today a trip to Tyler. Will try to tell the story about the pack in trip, being snowed in but just remember I'm no Birdwatcher when it comes to describing a trip. Will look at the picture album to refresh my "old memory" as I go. Curtis, my hunting partner and I both filmed the trip. Will try to get it posted tomorrow. -- BTW we had a contest on this board to name me because my old handle was me75410 and it was hard to answer to. My partner won because every time we went into a sporting goods store and I saw something new I would say, "I need one", hense "need one" -- no

Tom, the Dallas Gun Collectors are killing the Market Hall show with high prices, vallet parking, high prices in the concession, (small plain coffee $1.65). There was another function in other side of building and I had to park a couple blocks away getting there an hour early. There were several empty tables and all the junk dealers in the back under the deck were cleared out for the food concession. I didn't take anything inside to sell and left at noon. The Mesquite show is April 8-9th and a better show with 1000 tables but it also is coming down from what it was. I sold a Browning wheel sight take down 22LR to a dealer at last show and at Market Hall the cheapest I saw was $495. but most were in the $795 range. Only saw about a falf dozen pre 64 mod 70s and most of thoes were on one table, they are now running from $900 to $1250 with an occasional individual selling $750-$800. I had my knife sharpened and bought a cap and flashlight. Hope to do better at Mesquite. -- no

Tom, they blocked off all the expressway side of the building and some of the front for valet parking. They were giving away gun locks again at this show, as many as you need or want upon leaving. -- no

I agree with you needone, the local dallas shows have seriously gone down hill in the last couple of years....even big town is not what it once was. The last one I went to had more people selling dip and jerky and tactical crap than guns...hoping this one is better, since I am taking a friend to look at getting a pistol and getting him interested in guns again.

Baker I will be at the Mesquite, (Big Town) show Saturday and will be glad to meet with anyone on this board just to put faces to names. I will be in the snack bar at 11:00 sharp wearing a black NRA cap. Just walk up and say HI, I visit with many at every show and usually have a gun or two to sell while drinking coffee. If the show is slow I usually leave between 12 and 1, go put the hurt on Panchos Tex-Mex buffet joint before heading back to the sticks. -- Would help if anyone would let me know if you will be there so I can look for you. Have met seveal like that and some left with my gun. -- no

My apologies to all, this thread has turned into something I have fussed about but at least it has been an exchange of thoughts about Campfire doings, hunting, gun related, and just friends, (mostly). OK you can kick me now and I will try to do better. -- no <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Isn't the beer named for pearl-handled pistols?

Is that better? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Welcome back, Sonny. You've been missed. True. It's good. Past is past, let's move forward. Crank up your keyboard and while you're at it, go out and lasso Ole TLEE and drag him back, too.

Now, my earlier question about those big spawners on Lake Fork??? I'll be at the little motel, east side of the bridge. We launch at the marina/landing where they have the "Bubba T-bone steak". Caught a bunch of nice ones along the area across the baylet from the golf course. Advice, O' Learned One'??

Seriously, Sonny, good to see you back. You mention you trying to be named on this board,,,,,,,,,,,, you've got a few!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
